I get a lot of emails from people that want to download unlimited Nintendo Wii games that are high quality just like the ones you buy from the stores. Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop delivers a more immerse, intuitive and interactive experience as players use the Wii Remote to shoot, slash and bludgeon their way through a zombie infested shopping mall, fighting for survival.

The game follows the harrowing tale of Frank West, an overly zealous freelance journalist on a hunt for the scoop of a lifetime. In pursuit of a juicy lead, he makes his way to the small suburban town of Willamette only to find that it has become overrun by zombies. Frank escapes to the local shopping mall, thinking it will be a bastion of safety but it turns out to be anything but. It will be a true struggle to survive the endless stream of enemies, but players will have full reign of a realistic shopping center and its varied stores offering an endless supply of real and makeshift weapons to fight off the flesh-hungry mob. If Frank is running low on health he can pay a visit to one of the many restaurants or cafes for a meal in order to restore his energy and continue the fight. It's a brutal fight, but with no end in sight to this zombie onslaught, Frank bides his time by messing around with a variety of comedic costumes and making use of improvised and sometimes highly ineffective weapons such as a toy sword or a football.

Downloadable video content on Wii by 2010

Over at Gamasutra, analyst Colin Dixon of The Diffusion Group has made one of those broad analyst predictions that we know you all love so much. Dixon estimates that within two years, Nintendo will have organized a Wii-based video delivery service, similar to those currently available through Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

From later this month, Japanese Wiis will boast a similar(ish) service -- Fujisoft's Minna no Theater Wii ("Everybody's Theater Wii") from WiiWare -- but nothing on the scale of Microsoft's deal with Netflix to stream video content. Is it really so important for the Wii to offer downloadable video content? Dixon thinks so, and even argues that setting up a video on-demand service is crucial for Wii to "remain competitive in the long-term."

The Wii Speak Channel is out in Europe today, as is the actual WiiSpeak microphone. There's a video on youtube (that I can't embed) that shows all the bells and whistles.

It shows the channel's voice message capability, through which short (10 seconds or less) clips can be recorded and sent to Wii friends' Message Boards. Cleverly, the Channel allows you to bundle a picture with a message, so you can take a picture of that stringfish you caught in Animal Crossing and send it with a taunting message about, you know, how your friend has yet to catch a stringfish.

The Channel also allows users to warp their voices, in a feature similar to one found in the DSi's sound functionality -- which further cements the connection between the DSi's features and UI design and the Wii Menu.

Wii Homebrew Channel?

The Homebrew Channel was launched back in July and is a homebrew application loader by Team Twiizers which allows users to load homebrew applications without having to run the Twilight Hack every time. Once installed, users can access the channel from the Wii Menu just like any other Wii channel. It can launch homebrew applications in dol or elf -- either from an SD card, or via TCP or USB Gecko using Wiiload. It is also capable of downloading online updates for itself.

According to the official site the release date for the Wii version has been changed to January 2009 further extending the anticipated November release date. Guess you will have something to spend all that Christmas money on.

7 tricks for your Nintendo Wii

You didn't think your Nintendo Wii was a one-trick, Wii Sports playing pony, did you? Techradar.com compiled a list of seven tricks that can squeeze more out of your Nintendo Wii. Here are my personal favorites:

1. Email a chum's Wii: You'll need to have a record of those damnably unmemorable friend codes for anyone you want to mail, but once you do it's simple: just drop a message to w[friendcode]@wii.com. For instance, w1234567891011@wii.com.

6. Fix stubborn Wiimotes: If you're having trouble getting a new or borrowed Wiimote to synch with your console, there's a way to make the Wii completely forget about all the remotes it's paired with so that you can start afresh. Turn the Wii off and unplug it from the wall. Wait 30 seconds, then plug it in and turn it on again. When the Health & Safety warning pops up, open the flap on the front of the Wii, then press and hold down the red SYNC button for 15 seconds. And that's it - all the synced controllers will be forgotten. Then pair all your Wiimotes with the console using the standard method.

7. Use your Wiimotes with your PC: Yep, the Wiimote uses standard Bluetooth wireless tech to talk to the console - which means it can also work with a PC. So your Wii controller can double up as a remote control for movie watching, or you can even play any game with it. You'll need either built-in Bluetooth support or a USB adaptor in your PC, plus free app GlovePIE to get it working. There's a little bit of faff involved, but the instructions at the GlovePIE site will talk you through it. You can also download pre-made profiles for specific games.

Of course, I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I like to use with my Wii.

Turn the Wii into a YouTube machine: Here's an obvious one that I just don't see enough people using. Using the Wii's Opera-powered Internet Channel (which you have to purchase from the Wii Shop for 500 points), you can simply browse to YouTube.com to watch your favorite video moments on your big-screen TV. Additionally, you can plug in any USB keyboard or the Logitech Cordless Wii Keyboard to make Internet browsing and YouTube oogling a complete breeze.

Utilize the homebrew channel: This one takes a little bit more trickery than the others. Using your copy of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, you can install a freeware "homebrew" channel that allows you to run unofficial software on your Nintendo Wii. There are emulators, games, media players, and more—the potential is limitless. However, the legality of this is hotly debated, and your warranty may be voided, so proceed with caution.

• Express your personal style. Customize your town, your house and yourself by collecting bugs, fish, fossils, art, furniture, clothes and accessories. You can also go to the salon in the city to change your hairstyle and get a Mii makeover. Plus, if you design clothes in the tailor’s shop, animals will wear them and maybe even bring them to other towns.

Nintendo Wii will come with Opera browser

Nintendo's next-generation Wii video game console will feature the Opera browser, Opera Software announced on Wednesday.

Wii users will browse the Internet using their consoles, navigating sites via the new Wii remote controller, a two-handed, motion-sensitive system that allows players to mimic actions on-screen with the movement of their hands.

"For our Wii console launch in 2006, we required a browser that was fast and secure, with support for the latest standards, including AJAX," said Genyo Takeda, senior managing director and general manager of Nintendo's Integrated Research & Development Division.

Earlier this year, Oslo, Norway-based Opera and Nintendo announced a partnership to deliver a version of the Opera browser for Nintendo's DS handheld. The Nintendo DS browser is scheduled for release in Japan this summer.

The Wii, expected to come out in the fourth quarter of this year, will go head-to-head with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3.
